The Heinz Endowments awards grants to support educational, environmental, and cultural initiatives in Western Pennsylvania—and wants to spread the word about the good efforts of their grant recipients. This bright, well-written quarterly magazine reports on these projects with impact and appeal.

We use bold layouts and expressive photographs to tell the stories behind the grant listings, and the Endowments’ messages and intentions run throughout. The magazine won the Gold Wilmer Shields Rich Award from the Council on Foundations in both 2004 and 2006—the highest accolade available for communications by grantmaking foundations—and was selected for inclusion in the internationally prestigious Graphis Design Annual.
