Celebrating 50 years of service

Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti Anniversary Book

This small hospital is located in the poorest area of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The hospital offers both health and economic development services to 300,000 residents of the Artibonite Valley.

Through Karl Grobl’s photographs, this small book conveys the beautiful spirit and dignity of the Haitian people, while quietly celebrating the hospital’s achievements of its first 50 years. The book served as both a 50th anniversary commemorative and a plea for support from an international philanthropic community.

Rick had the good fortune to travel to the hospital to research the book.
