Forbes Trail Medallions

In 1758, British General John Forbes and his army carved a 300-mile long trail through Pennsylvania’s wilderness to seize French Fort Duquesne at the forks of the Ohio. His achievement is commemorated state-wide with 30-inch diameter bronze medallions at five significant points along The Forbes Trail as well as in Dumferline, Scotland, Forbes’ birthplace.
