A new conference center showcases a priceless collection

Carnegie Mellon Posner Center Exhibit

Carnegie Mellon University’s newly-designed Posner Center provides a fitting gallery for the noteworthy Posner Collection: rare books of immense intellectual and historical value.

Working with librarians, architects, university administrators, and experts on the archival display of rare books, we designed the book exhibit and information system. Deep colors and subtle textures provide a backdrop for the books, which appear to glow in the vertical cherry cases. The collection’s wonders could be a mystery to many—we wrote short but informative captions to answer the question, “Why is this worth looking at?”
